Privacy
This explains what Break Point for Gyms keeps, why, who sees it, and your choices. It's run by Built to Submit Enterprises, Inc. ("Break Point", "we").
Two kinds of information
- Member information is collected by your gym. The gym decides what it collects and is in charge of it; Break Point stores and processes it only to run the service for the gym (we're the gym's "service provider"). Requests about member information go to your gym, and we'll help the gym answer them.
- Gym account and website information (gym owners and staff, and people who fill in the form on breakpointforgyms.com) is handled by Break Point directly.
What we keep
- Members: name, email, phone, birthdate, emergency contact, medical notes you give the gym, belt and stripes, family links (a parent and their kids), plan, signed waiver, class bookings, check-ins and payment history.
- Payments: Stripe keeps your full card or bank details. We only keep the type and last 4 digits (like "Visa •••• 4242") and the payment history.
- Gym staff: name, email, role, and what they do in the app.
- Website form: your name, gym, email, phone and what you tell us, so we can contact you about a demo or the pilot.
- Technical: the internet address used when signing a waiver or sending a form, and basic logs to keep the service safe.
Why we use it
To run memberships: billing, class booking and check-in, belt tracking, emails like receipts, reminders and sign-in links, support, and keeping the service secure and working. For the website form, to get back to you. We don't use member information for our own marketing.
Who sees it
- Your gym's owner and staff.
- Break Point, to run and support the service.
- Companies that help us run it, only for that purpose:
- Stripe: payments
- Cloudflare: hosting and database
- Resend: email
- Authorities, when the law requires it.
- A buyer, if Break Point's business is sold or merged. They'd have to follow this policy.
We don't sell personal information and we don't share it for advertising.
Cookies
We use one sign-in cookie to keep you signed in. No advertising cookies, no tracking pixels and no analytics that follow you around the web, so there's nothing to opt out of.
AI
We don't use gym or member information to train AI models.
Kids
Kids' profiles are created by a parent or by the gym, and gyms must have a parent's permission for children under 13. Kids don't get their own sign-in; a parent sees their kids in the member app with the parent's email. A parent can ask the gym, or us, to see, fix or delete a child's information.
How long we keep it
- While a gym uses Break Point for Gyms, we keep its information.
- When a gym leaves, it can download its data, and we delete it within 90 days.
- Payment records can be kept longer where tax or financial law requires.
- Backups roll off within 30 days after that.
- Website form requests are kept up to 2 years.
Your choices and rights
You can ask to see, fix, delete or get a copy of your information. Members: ask your gym first, or email us and we'll work with your gym. Gym owners and website visitors: email us. If you live in a state with privacy laws (such as California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Texas and others), you have those rights too. We'll confirm who you are, answer within 45 days, and if we say no you can ask us to look again. We won't treat you differently for asking.
Security
Every gym's data is kept separate. Sign-in is by single-use email links, connections are encrypted, and card details never touch our servers. If information is exposed in a security incident, we'll tell the affected gyms quickly and help them tell their members as the law requires.
Where it's stored
Information is stored with Cloudflare and delivered through its network. Payment details are stored by Stripe.
Changes
We'll update this page as the product grows and change the date at the top. For important changes we'll email gym owners first.
